Because nothing says “inspiring leader” like a public breakdown and a bullet-point list.
At this point, every leadership post on LinkedIn feels like it was written by a sentient inspirational quote calendar that got left out in the rain.
It’s always the same formula:
Step 1 – Boldly “debunk” the strawman version of leadership (apparently everyone thinks leaders are flawless robot-warriors).
Step 2 – Replace it with some soft, vaguely tearful take about how real leaders cry, doubt themselves, and occasionally spill soup on their keyboards but still show up.
Step 3 – Add checklists with ✅ emojis to signal wisdom and ❌ to shame the unenlightened masses.
Step 4 – Finish with a call to “repost if you agree,” because nothing says transformational leadership like chasing engagement metrics.
We get it. Leadership is hard, people are flawed, and pretending to be perfect is bad. Incredible. Groundbreaking. I’ve only seen this posted 73 times this week, and that’s just before lunch.
Here’s a wild idea: maybe true leadership is shutting up and doing the work without needing to constantly narrate your inner monologue like a Netflix documentary.
But yeah, please—tell us again how being vulnerable is the new strength. I live for the repetition.
haha, love this! Sadly this is not exclusive to leadership posts on LinkedIn...
Good for you. Well said.
